The New Funnies Tuesday, Aug 28 2007

I was online this morning, going through a relatively uniform routine I perform rather often, when I realized that I read a ton of web comics. I read six almost religiously, and I recently discovered three others that I am now up to date on. They all feature good art work, at least moderatly compelling storylines and about half of them, I laugh out loud at on a regular basis.

I currently refuse to assess this practice as either good or bad, nor do I see any reason to analyze why I do this. It’s a thing I do and enjoy and I thought I’d share, that’s all.

I suppose it would be rude to divulge this idiosyncrasy without the giving the names of the strips, now wouldn’t it?

Scary Go Round- British comic, motly dealing with the hapless adventures of Shelley Winters and her friends in the quiet borough of Tackleford

Dr. McNinja- Exactly what it sounds like except better because his receptionist is a gorilla and he fighs zombies

Dresden Codak- Follows transhumanist Kimiko Ross into a mixed bag theological, physilogical and sociological flavored shenaningans, mostly into her own subconscious

There are more but I have the attention span of a gu-nat and wish to sleep.

Here I are Monday, Aug 27 2007

Well, the internet can now sleep easy, as I, Dan Gast, have utterly and completly conformed, joined, or what have you to its many charms and, due mostly to the inspiration by my pals on the Church Voices forums, have started a blog. (Wow, run-on sentance much?)

I really dont have any sort of aim here, it’s just an activity I’m using to help structure my life on a day to day basis. I will probably discuss music a lot because I love it and it seems to have at least reasonably amicable feelings towards myself. I will also, inevetably, create new words as I often find the English language a bit confining.

So, in conclusion, summary, closing and in a nut shell, I’m Dan Gast, this is my blog and na-chos. (And now I’m hungry)
